Senior CNC Machinist – Process Improvement

A manufacturer in Greenville has an opening for a Senior CNC Machinist/Process Engineer to assist their company with process improvement. This role requires hands-on CNC machining experience on the shop floor, including Fanuc controls and twin-spindle lathes. This is a first shift position focused on troubleshooting, setup reduction, and process improvement. This is a direct, hands-on role where you will support machinists in real time, resolve complex machining issues, and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, uptime, and workflow.
In this role, you will support CNC lathe operations with a strong focus on twin-spindle and Swiss-style machines. You will troubleshoot Fanuc controls, adjust programs, tooling, and offsets, and step in during machine downtime or failed setups to quickly diagnose and resolve issues. You will also play a key role in improving shop performance by identifying inefficiencies, standardizing setups, and supporting new part validation, tooling, and fixture improvements.
You will work closely with machinists, maintenance, quality, and engineering to keep production running smoothly. Responsibilities include supporting 5S initiatives, improving tool organization and kitting, assisting with material prep, and helping create more efficient and repeatable processes across the shop floor.
REQUIRED:
-7+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience
-2+ years as process engineer, lead machinist, or advanced CNC support specialist
-Strong experience with Fanuc controls
-Strong experience with twin-spindle lathes
-Strong experience with tooling, offsets, and setup practices
-Experience with lean manufacturing, setup reduction, and fixture design
-Able to occasionally lift 50 lbs
