Senior CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer (Aerospace)
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with exceptional programming ability to join a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on expert who thrives in complex machining, takes ownership of challenging parts, and consistently delivers high-quality results from prototype through production.
The ideal candidate is a strong CNC programmer first, with deep experience in 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining, Mastercam programming, and interpreting complex GD&T-driven blueprints. You will play a key role in programming, setup, optimization, and continuous improvement, working closely with engineering and shop leadership to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines for high-precision aerospace components
Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam (G-code/M-code)
Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications
Design and optimize tooling, fixturing, and machining strategies for complex parts
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure tight tolerances
Troubleshoot machining issues and refine processes to improve cycle times and quality
Support prototype-to-production transitions and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and leadership to meet production and quality goals
Required Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer in an aerospace or high-precision environment
Strong expertise in 5-axis machining
Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (any version from V9 through current)
Solid knowledge of G-code/M-code programming
Proven ability to interpret GD&T-based blueprints
Experience machining aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and other aerospace materials
Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership or lead machinist experience
Background in job costing, estimating, or workflow optimization
Experience supporting complex prototypes and mission-critical components
