OA Reference: Senior Application Developer
Job Summary
Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company’s application portfolio. Participates in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department, utilizing various customer technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements
Lead requirements gathering meetings
Own and manage the change request process, coordinating with other teams as needed
Develop and own the list of final enhancements
Define application scope and objectives
Prepare technical and/or functional specifications from which programs will be written
Perform technical design reviews and code reviews
Ensure unit testing is completed according to test plans
Ensure system testing is completed and systems are implemented as planned
Assess current system status and support data information planning
Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective system monitoring
Maintain the technical development environment
Mentor team members and lead small to medium-sized projects
Facilitate group sessions for requirements clarification, design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting
Support vendor evaluation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience with multi-dimensional platforms and business and technical applications
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading people and small projects
Strong troubleshooting support experience
Experience with multi-database and/or multi-language environments
