We are seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to lead our accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies. The Senior AP Accountant will manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, act as a primary point of contact for complex vendor relations, and mentor junior staff. This role focuses on optimizing payment processes, reducing invoice processing time, and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead full-cycle accounts payable operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage vendor relations, resolve complex AP issues, and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support process improvements focused on reducing invoice processing time and improving payment efficiency.
- Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close tasks, and compliance-related AP activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior, lead, or supervisory accounts payable role.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume accounting environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, team members, and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in government, public sector, or highly regulated financial environments.
- Experience mentoring, training, or reviewing the work of junior accounting or accounts payable staff.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit support, and accounts payable compliance practices.
