We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable support, audit preparation, and process improvement within a complex corporate environment.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting and finance teams to support accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting operations. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and upload trial balances, financial data, journal entries, and recurring accounting activity.
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations, recurring journal entries, invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Support accounts payable activities, vendor and customer setup, payment processing, and invoice workflow improvements.
- Assist with audit preparation, supporting schedules, internal controls documentation, and year-end reporting, including 1099 preparation.
- Support accounting activities related to new acquisitions, new business entities, budgeting requests, reporting needs, system implementations, and special projects.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Compensation: $30 to $35 per hour.
- Support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Assist with accounts payable, invoice review, vendor setup, customer setup, and payment processing.
- Prepare audit documentation, year-end reporting support, and accounting schedules.
- Contribute to accounting system improvements, process enhancements, and special accounting projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounting principles.
- Experience supporting accounts payable activities and audit preparation.
- ERP or accounting system experience required.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with accounting, finance, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 or more years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience.
- CPA or CPA candidate status.
- Experience working within a large, complex, or multi-entity organization.
- Experience with Workday, Costpoint, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience.
