SENIOR ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
HYBRID: 4 days remote from Raleigh, NC with 1 day working in the Wilmington, NC (4/1 Hybrid)
REPORTS: Directly to the SVP of Finance & Operations
SALARY RANGE: $80,000 – $98,000/yr.
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for an entertainment company located in Wilmington, NC that owns and operates live music venues, produces festivals, and promotes stadium-scale shows. We are building a finance function that can keep pace: a multi-entity Sage Intacct environment, real controls, and reporting the leadership team leverages to drive decisions. The Senior Accountant owns day-to-day accounting operations across our growing portfolio of entities, to help strengthen the close, controls, and reporting.
Accounting Operations
• Own full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple entities
• Prepare and issue customer invoices; track collections and resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process intercompany transactions, allocations, and journal entries
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, contracts, and 1099 compliance documentation
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns across multiple states
Month-End Close & Reporting
• Support month-end close: accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages
• Partner with SVP of Finance & Operations on close timeline, quality, reporting accuracy
Systems, Controls & Process
• Support ongoing Sage Intacct ERP optimization and system enhancements
• Document and improve accounting standard operating procedures
• Help build and operate a strengthening internal control environment, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and audit readiness
• Coordinate with teams on payments, vendor compliance, and financial workflows
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5-7+ years’ full-cycle accounting experience
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and allocations
• Hands-on preparation and filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Multi-entity cloud ERP: Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Acumatica, Dynamics 365 Business.
• Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation work
• Experience documenting SOPs or supporting ERP implementation
• Experience supporting an external tax preparer with clean, well-organized schedules
• High attention to detail, comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment
