We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity in Downtown Orlando, FL. This hybrid role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a structured month-end close environment and enjoys financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end close process for assigned associations, ensuring deadlines and corporate closing schedules are met.
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end schedules.
- Review financial results and prepare variance analysis, explanations, and reporting for management.
- Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, quarterly schedules, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Identify accounting issues, research reconciling items, and assist with internal control improvements.
- Communicate financial information clearly and support the development or training of accounting staff as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $43.25 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Contract: Through September 2028.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesday and Wednesday and remote work on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Location: Downtown Orlando, FL corporate office.
- Manage month-end close responsibilities for assigned entities or associations.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial schedules.
- Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Partner with management on reporting deliverables, accounting issues, and special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 3 or more years of accounting experience in a month-end close environment.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, GAAP, and month-end close.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to develop, mentor, and train staff as needed.
- Flexible, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, or accounting within the travel, transportation, or tourism industry is helpful.
- Experience supporting quarterly reporting schedules and internal or external reporting deliverables is preferred.
