Job Summary

A well-established organization in Downtown Orlando is seeking a Senior Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity supporting corporate accounting operations. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and GAAP-based analysis.

The Senior Accountant will work in a professional, deadline-driven accounting environment with opportunities to contribute to accurate financial reporting, support management decision-making, and collaborate with knowledgeable finance leaders. Key Responsibilities

- Manage month-end close activities for assigned entities or associations while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end schedules.
- Research and resolve reconciling items, accounting discrepancies, and financial reporting issues.
- Analyze financial results, prepare variance explanations, and communicate findings to management.
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, quarterly schedules, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Support internal controls, special projects, and training or mentoring of accounting staff as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $43.25 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Assignment type: Long-term contract through September 2028.
- Location: Downtown Orlando, FL 32801.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare account reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting schedules.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and GAAP-compliant reporting.
- Research accounting issues and provide clear financial explanations to management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 3 or more years of accounting experience in a month-end close environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
- Experience mentoring, training, or supporting accounting staff is a plus.
- Prior experience in corporate accounting within travel, transportation, tourism, or a related industry is helpful.
