Job Summary
A growing public accounting firm in the Thorofare/West Deptford, NJ area is seeking a Senior Accountant for a direct hire opportunity. This is an excellent role for an accounting professional with 3-5+ years of public accounting experience, strong corporate and business tax preparation skills, and a desire to work directly with clients as a trusted advisor.
The Senior Accountant will join a collaborative, client-focused team with direct exposure to firm leadership and meaningful long-term advancement potential. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate, business, partnership, and related tax returns.
- Analyze general ledgers, trial balances, and supporting accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare financial statements, workpapers, reconciliations, and related documentation.
- Manage client relationships and communicate accounting and tax matters clearly and professionally.
- Research and resolve accounting, tax, and financial reporting questions.
- Collaborate with partners and team members on client engagements and ongoing advisory needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 to $135,000 per year, with up to $140,000 for top talent.
- 20% commission on collected revenue from new client business.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare and review corporate, business, and partnership tax returns.
- Maintain and analyze general ledgers, trial balances, financial statements, and workpapers.
- Serve as a client-facing accounting and tax resource for business clients.
- Research accounting and tax issues while supporting partner-led client engagements.
- 3-5+ years of public accounting experience required.
- Strong experience preparing corporate and business tax returns.
- Advanced QuickBooks proficiency.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and trial balances.
- Ability to explain accounting processes, tax matters, and financial decisions clearly to clients.
- Strong communication, client service, and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, professional, positive, and team-oriented.
- Comfortable representing the firm professionally in client-facing situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-track status preferred.
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor to small and mid-sized business clients preferred.
- Long-term interest in career growth within a respected public accounting firm preferred.
