Job Summary

A growing, multi-state law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Senior Accountant for a direct hire opportunity supporting the CFO and taking ownership of key accounting, reporting, and analysis functions. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work, process ownership, and delivering accurate financial information that supports business decisions.

The Senior Accountant will play an important role in month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, compliance support, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and key performance metrics.
- Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide financial insights to leadership.
- Support internal controls, maintain accurate records, and handle confidential financial information with professionalism.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Direct hire opportunity.

- Hybrid schedule available after 90 days.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Own key accounting functions including general ledger, reconciliations, close activities, and financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, performance reports, variance analysis, and financial models.
- Support audits, tax filings, compliance requirements, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Partner with the CFO and leadership team to provide accurate financial insight and process support.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- 5 or more years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience required.
- Strong general ledger, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
- Hands-on experience preparing financial statements and supporting accounting operations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial analysis and modeling.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to manage deadlines in a professional services environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Law firm accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with legal billing, trust accounting, or Aderant is a plus.
- CPA, CPA candidate, or public accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-office or multi-state operations preferred.
- Experience coming from a major accounting firm is highly preferred.
