Job Summary
A growing professional services organization in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the CFO with day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and key performance metrics.
- Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, trust accounting, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, audits, tax filings, and multi-state compliance requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide financial insights to leadership.
- Support internal controls, collaborate with auditors, and assist with mentoring junior accounting staff as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
- Schedule: Hybrid after 90 days.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, variance reporting, and financial modeling.
- Assist with month-end close, year-end close, audits, tax filings, and compliance-related accounting activities.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting support to senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial statements, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of confidentiality, accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable in a hands-on role with direct ownership of accounting work rather than managing primarily through delegation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a law firm, major accounting firm, legal services, or professional services environment.
- CPA or active CPA candidate.
- Experience with legal billing and trust accounting.
- Experience with legal accounting software, including Aderant Expert.
- Experience supporting multi-office or multi-state accounting operations.
