Job Summary
A growing organization in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team in a direct hire role. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, reconcile accounts, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support cost accounting activities, budget maintenance, financial analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and improve accounting systems, procedures, and financial controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff while collaborating with internal departments to support sound financial decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, accounting records, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Manage tax calculations, tax return preparation, compliance requirements, and financial reporting deadlines.
- Support cost accounting, budgeting, accounting systems, and cross-functional financial planning.
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and communicate financial insights to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting and financial software, such as Accurate NXG, Blackbaud, Intuit Quicken, and QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review complex financial data and identify accurate, practical solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Strong communication and supervisory skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Adaptable, creative, and solution-focused approach to accounting challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in accounting and auditing services or a professional services environment.
- Cost accounting experience.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Experience improving accounting processes, systems, controls, or reporting procedures.
