Job Summary
A growing manufacturing organization in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting experience. This contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys partnering with operations, purchasing, and production teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support accurate financial decision-making.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, general ledger accuracy, inventory analysis, and manufacturing cost reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and review of inventory transactions.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, margins, and standard costing activity.
- Partner with operations, purchasing, and production teams to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, audit support, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare financial statements, month-end close deliverables, reconciliations, and general ledger reporting.
- Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and production to improve processes and controls.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting experience required.
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- ERP system experience required.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Prior experience supporting manufacturing operations, inventory controls, and margin reporting.
- Experience contributing to accounting process improvements in a growing organization.
