Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and resolving inquiries.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper financial controls and compliance.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
