Inland Empire Client seeking Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and coordinating the company’s accounting operations, with a strong focus on accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
This role will support the month-end close process, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to process improvements within the accounting function. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments. This position is developmental, offering advancement opportunities into a future Controllership role based on performance, leadership, and financial acumen.
The Senior Accountant will manage and coordinate the end-to-end accounts payable process as well as collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure accurate documentation, invoice matching, and timely payments.
In this role you will facilitate weekly check runs and oversee transition from paper checks to ACH payments as well as reconcile all cash disbursements, ACH payments, and related journal entries.
The Senior Accountant will reconcile and record corporate credit card transactions and related expenses, perform monthly reconciliations for cash and key balance sheet accounts and prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
In this role you will assist in completing monthly and year-end closing procedures, maintain cost centers for equipment and vehicles in the ERP system and support financial statement preparation and assist with external audit requests.
The Senior Accountant will support the development of the company’s working capital and weekly profitability model, assist in preparing management reports, budgets, and variance analyses and provide financial analysis to support cost management and production flow tracking.
In this role you will contribute to financial statement preparation and tax/book reporting, assist the CFO with management of captive insurance programs, prepaid amortization schedules, and reserve calculations (IBNR/LDF).
The Senior Accountant will support development and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives as well as participate in cross-departmental initiatives to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cost-accounting environment.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
