Senior Accountant
Location: Carson, CA
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000 annually
Reports to: President/CEO
About the Company:
Our client is a leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor specializing in air distribution products and performance door components, serving commercial and industrial clients. Their product line includes:
Air diffusers, grills/registers, louvers, dampers, sound attenuators, terminal boxes, and VAV units
Security- and fire-rated vision frames and door louvers
Custom-engineered HVAC accessories for critical environments and clean-room applications
They are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Candidates with backgrounds as a Senior Staff Accountant or Assistant to the Controller are also encouraged to apply. This role is available as either a Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end close processes, as well as special projects.
Oversee accounting functions from data entry through income statement preparation.
Reconcile accounts, post transactions to the general ledger, and generate monthly reports and spreadsheets.
Manage all cash-flow and banking functions, including daily cash balances, deposits, bank transfers, and wire/ACH withdrawals.
Oversee accounts receivable, including managing aging reports, supervising collections, applying payments, monitoring customer accounts, and preparing statements.
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and ensure accurate posting to the GL.
Process credits and returns efficiently and accurately.
Handle year-end tax filing functions, including 1069, 1099, and related reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
Strong knowledge of month-end/year-end close processes and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Syteline ERP is a plus.
Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and a professional, upbeat attitude.
Ability to research, resolve issues, and work independently while contributing to a team.
