On behalf of our client, a small to medium-sized company in the Construction - Industrial Facilities and Infrastructure industry, we are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Accountant for a temporary engagement. This 100% onsite role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our client's financial data, with a primary focus on reconciling financial reports. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment with little supervision and possess significant experience with ERP systems like Sage or Great Plains. A strong environment match is key for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the reconciliation of all Sage 100 financial reports to the company’s trial balance, including for one main company and two sister companies.
- Perform detailed analysis and investigation of financial discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, reports, and analyses as required.
- Collaborate closely with finance and operations teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Provide support for auditing activities by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing workload effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on financial reconciliation.
- Proven hands-on experience with Sage (preferably Sage 100) or Great Plains ERP systems is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in reconciling module reports to the general ledger and trial balance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to start promptly on or around June 30, 2025, with a start time of either 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a small to medium-sized company.
- Prior experience in the Construction - Industrial Facilities and Infrastructure industry.
- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
