Details:
The Senior Accountant oversees daily operations related to Banking, Trust, and Accounts Payable, while ensuring timely billing and collections in coordination with the regional Staff Accountant. Responsibilities include processing expense reports, managing electronic filing systems, and monitoring key financial balances such as Unapplied, Trust, and Work In Progress (WIP).
The role supports the CFO in implementing new technologies and procedures and serves as a point of contact for bank communications, including ACH and wire transfers.
Regular financial reporting and sales tax filing for NY/NJ offices are also key duties.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and at least five years of experience, preferably within a law firm, are required.
Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive financial inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
A solid understanding of financial statements, journal entries, and budget calculations is essential. Proficiency in legal accounting software such as Aderant Expert or Elite, along with Microsoft Excel, is also necessary.
