Position Title: Senior Accountant
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for assigned properties, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role focuses on general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable processing, bank reconciliations, and preparation of basic financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly financial reports of assigned or designated properties.
• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Reconcile tenant accounts, including rent payments and adjustments.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and expense tracking.
• Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
• Support property managers with accounting-related inquiries.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits if needed.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP basics).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (Associate’s Degree with strong experience also considered).
• Minimum 3 years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
