We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to prepare financial reports and track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role is crucial in providing financial guidance and support to our company’s success. You will closely monitor our financial performance, understand key financial drivers, and work closely with our CFO, overseeing Accounts Payable staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly accruals.
Conduct job profitability accounting and analyze gross margin performance.
Review spending against budget with divisions.
Oversee vendor and customer accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in closing the monthly books.
Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, address inquiries from banks, and manage personnel responsible for cash application of customer deposits.
Oversee accounts receivable management.
Manage accounts payable staff and ensure timely and accurate payments.
Assist outside auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
File required tax forms and business licenses with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills:

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and job cost accounting.
Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and the firm’s accounting policies and procedures.
Proven knowledge of balance sheet reviews, financial reporting, and gross margin analysis.
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise preferred).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Exceptional time management skills.
Understanding of construction accounting.
Position Requirements:

Strong work ethic.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
3-5 years of accounting experience required.
