Seasonal Tax Preparer

Schedule: Full Time February–April
About the Opportunity
A well established and growing accounting practice is working with AppleOne seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to support increased workload during the tax season. This is a confidential search ideal for professionals who excel in fast paced environments and are looking for seasonal, flexible work with competitive compensation.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120 S)
• Analyze financial statements and supporting tax documentation
• Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and current tax laws
• Identify deductions, credits, and tax saving opportunities
• Communicate with clients professionally to gather missing information
• Meet strict deadlines during peak tax season
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all client data
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of professional tax preparation experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
• Experience preparing individual and small business returns
• Proficiency with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a high volume environment
Preferred Qualifications
• EA, CPA, or CPA Candidate status (highly preferred)
• Prior experience in public accounting or tax firm environment
• Multistate tax experience
• Bilingual skills a plus (not required)
