We are seeking a detail-oriented Scanning Operator for a contract/temporary opportunity in El Paso, TX. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, structured work in a fast-paced document processing and digital imaging environment. Required Qualifications and Skills
The Scanning Operator will support high-volume scanning, document preparation, quality assurance, indexing, data entry, and document handling. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, sort, unbox, scan, index, and re-box documents using high-speed scanning equipment.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure scanned images and indexed files are accurate and complete.
- Receive, sort, and process inbound documents, boxes, pallets, mail, and shipments using chain of custody procedures.
- Perform data entry and document tracking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
- Handle confidential and sensitive materials while following all security, privacy, and onsite policies.
- Support shipping, receiving, archiving, filing, work order requests, and front or back office coverage as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $15 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Perform high-volume document scanning, imaging, indexing, and quality control.
- Prepare, sort, receive, move, and archive physical documents, boxes, and records.
- Enter data accurately and support document tracking through required systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow secure document handling procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of prior work experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and general PC use.
- Ability to learn computer-based systems required for the position.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude and appearance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned projects accurately.
- Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, packing slips, and document handling procedures.
- Ability to read and understand handwritten and printed file numbers, letters, and document identifiers.
- Working knowledge of multifunction devices or scanning equipment preferred.
- Ability to follow onsite policies, including restrictions on carrying cellphones, cameras, or imaging devices on the active work floor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in document imaging, scanning, records management, mailroom operations, production, warehouse, or office services.
- Experience working with chain of custody procedures or secure document handling.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic scanning or document quality issues.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks, production goals, and deadline-driven work.
