Job Summary
AppleOne is seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor - 3rd Shift for a direct hire opportunity in a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment in Hanford, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on sanitation leader who is passionate about food safety, operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement.
The Sanitation Supervisor will lead overnight sanitation operations, ensuring production equipment, processing areas, packaging lines, and facility spaces are properly cleaned, sanitized, inspected, and ready for startup. This position works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and plant leadership to maintain strong compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, OSHA, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all 3rd shift sanitation activities, including planning, scheduling, assigning, and monitoring sanitation tasks to support production readiness.
- Supervise, coach, train, and develop sanitation team members while promoting accountability, safety, teamwork, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, company food safety policies, OSHA requirements, chemical safety, PPE, and LOTO procedures.
- Verify sanitation effectiveness through inspections, ATP testing, environmental monitoring, pre-operational checks, sanitation logs, and corrective action follow-up.
- Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance to identify sanitation-related equipment issues, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure successful startup.
- Maintain sanitation chemical, tool, and supply inventory while evaluating sanitation processes for efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead overnight sanitation operations for a food manufacturing facility.
- Manage sanitation schedules, team assignments, inspections, and production readiness.
- Support food safety audits, regulatory inspections, environmental monitoring, and sanitation verification programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in sanitation processes, chemical usage, documentation, safety, and team performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Health, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing sanitation.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant sanitation, production, operations, or food manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
- Proven experience supervising sanitation teams in a food production or food processing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, sanitation validation, sanitation verification, and environmental monitoring.
- Understanding of sanitation chemicals, chemical handling, dilution, storage, application, and related safety procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate sanitation logs, chemical usage records, verification documentation, and corrective action records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to food safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP certification.
- PCQI certification.
- Experience supporting internal audits, regulatory inspections, third-party certification audits, and customer audits.
- Experience developing or updating sanitation procedures, work instructions, cleaning schedules, and corrective/preventive action plans.
