Job Summary
A growing food manufacturing facility in Hanford, CA is seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to lead third shift sanitation operations in a fast-paced production environment. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on sanitation leader who understands food safety, regulatory compliance, sanitation verification, and team development.
The Sanitation Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring production equipment, processing areas, packaging lines, and facility spaces are cleaned, verified, and ready for startup. This position offers the opportunity to join a stable food and beverage production environment with strong operational leadership, cross-functional teamwork, and a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This is a strong fit for a supervisor who enjoys leading from the floor, coaching employees, solving problems, and helping maintain high standards for GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, and FSSC 22000 compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all third shift sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, labor planning, sanitation assignments, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance to ensure equipment, processing systems, packaging lines, and facility areas are cleaned, inspected, and ready for startup.
- Enforce food safety, quality, sanitation, GMP, SSOP, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, OSHA, chemical safety, PPE, and LOTO requirements.
- Verify sanitation effectiveness through inspections, ATP testing, environmental monitoring, pre-op checks, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Maintain sanitation records, chemical usage documentation, supply inventory, work instructions, cleaning schedules, and audit readiness.
- Coach, train, and develop sanitation team members while promoting a positive, accountable, safety-focused team environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead third shift sanitation operations for food manufacturing production areas, processing systems, packaging lines, and facility infrastructure.
- Plan sanitation tasks, assign team members, manage cleaning resources, and support production startup timelines.
- Verify sanitation results through inspections, ATP testing, environmental monitoring, pre-op checks, and documentation.
- Drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, employee training, and sanitation process compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Health, or related field, or a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing sanitation.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant sanitation, food manufacturing, production operations, or supervisory experience preferred based on role level.
- Proven experience supervising sanitation teams in a food production or food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, and food safety requirements.
- Understanding of sanitation chemicals, chemical handling, dilution, storage, application, environmental monitoring, sanitation validation, and sanitation verification.
- Ability to support internal audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party certification audits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP certification preferred.
- PCQI certification preferred.
- Experience supporting FSSC 22000 certification requirements, customer audits, regulatory inspections, or third-party food safety audits.
- Experience developing sanitation procedures, work instructions, cleaning schedules, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
