Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales Compensation Analyst for a 4+ month contract opportunity supporting finance operations and sales compensation processes. This onsite role in Rochester, NY is ideal for a finance, accounting, payroll, commissions, or reporting professional who enjoys working with data, resolving discrepancies, and helping ensure accurate and timely commission payments.
In this role, you will work closely with sales, finance, and management teams in a collaborative environment where accuracy, communication, and process improvement are valued. This is a strong opportunity to build experience in sales compensation, financial reporting, commissions processing, and cross-functional finance support while contributing to a team-focused workplace with supportive leadership and clear operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, audit, and report monthly sales representative commissions using multiple systems, databases, and reporting tools.
- Research commission inquiries, investigate discrepancies, and ensure compensation calculations follow established policies and controls.
- Partner with sales, finance, and business teams to resolve commission-related questions and provide timely updates.
- Create and maintain reports related to sales performance, incentives, recognition programs, awards, and bonus payments.
- Support system enhancements, new product implementations, process updates, and documentation for commission-related workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, and reporting within the sales compensation process.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.
- Employment Type: 4+ month contract, W-2.
- Location: Rochester, NY 14625.
- Work Arrangement: Onsite.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Process monthly commission cycles, including calculations, audits, reporting, and payment submissions.
- Manage sales compensation inquiries, research requests, and discrepancy investigations.
- Maintain financial controls, documentation, procedures, and reporting for commission processes.
- Support bonus calculations, process improvements, system updates, and cross-functional finance projects.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in finance operations, accounting support, commissions, payroll, reporting, or a related business support role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Experience working with financial systems, databases, reporting tools, or data-driven business processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams, finance teams, management, and other business partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commission management systems or incentive compensation platforms.
- Knowledge of sales compensation processes, incentive plans, bonus calculations, or revenue recognition concepts.
- Experience creating reports, analyzing data, and supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to provide training, documentation, and knowledge sharing for new or existing team members.
