Job Description
• Is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting database environments to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.
• Works on complex database design, development, and support activities in production and non-production environments.
• Provides ongoing database support while ensuring systems meet business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develops logical and conceptual database designs, including data models, access methods, and metadata structures.
• Creates, maintains, and validates metadata while planning and executing unit testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Evaluates test results to confirm fulfillment of functional and data requirements.
• Supports production deployment of data-related components and implements required system changes.
• Performs ongoing data analysis, data quality testing, and metadata enhancements.
• Reviews SQL code and provides performance tuning and optimization recommendations.
• Administers DBMS configuration, security, and user access management.
• Provides database troubleshooting and technical support for SQL Server and DB2 environments.
• Manages backup and restore operations and supports disaster recovery readiness.
• Supports Development and DevOps teams by troubleshooting ETL processes, stored procedures, and data-related application issues.
• Develops automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Participates in on-call rotations to support production and non-production database environments.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of three to five years of professional experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong experience administering SQL Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, backups, high availability, and performance tuning.
• Experience managing DBMS tools and implementing new database features and functionality.
• Availability to work a hybrid schedule and participate in on-call rotations as required.
Work Schedule & Model
• Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm AST.
• Position follows a hybrid work model, with one to two days onsite per week based on business needs.
• Initial training period ranges from two to four weeks and includes onboarding on internal systems, production environments, backup procedures, and disaster recovery processes.
