Job Opportunity: SIP Trunk Coordinator

We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented SIP Trunk Coordinator to manage the critical intersection of voice services and network infrastructure. This role is essential for maintaining seamless connectivity, acting as the primary technical liaison between our organization, telecom carriers, and equipment vendors.


The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in VoIP protocols and a proven track record of managing complex PBX integrations and service migrations.


Key Responsibilities
Service Lifecycle Management: Lead the provisioning, activation, porting, and decommissioning of SIP trunk services. Maintain carrier relationships and manage technical escalations to resolve service disruptions.
PBX Configuration & Support: Configure and maintain SIP trunks on various on-premise platforms (e.g., Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, ESI, or Asterisk). Manage dial plans, routing, codecs, and failover protocols.
Network Optimization: Monitor trunk utilization and voice quality. Conduct rigorous testing and validation following system upgrades or network changes.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex voice incidents. Analyze SIP signaling and RTP streams using tools like Wireshark to resolve latency, jitter, and packet loss.
Project Coordination: Act as the technical lead for voice-related projects, including new site deployments and legacy-to-SIP migrations. Maintain comprehensive network diagrams and configuration documentation.


Qualifications & Technical Skills
Protocols: Advanced understanding of SIP, RTP, and standard VoIP signaling.
Hardware: Hands-on experience with Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and enterprise PBX systems.
Analysis: Proficiency in Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis and packet-level troubleshooting.
Networking: Strong grasp of QoS, firewall configurations, and NAT traversal as they relate to voice traffic.
Soft Skills: Exceptional project management skills and the ability to coordinate across multi-functional technical teams.
