The Revenue Management & Pricing Manager is responsible for implementing and executing data-driven pricing and revenue management solutions to drive incremental profitability across Universal Parks & Resorts. This role applies advanced analytical methods and predictive modeling to understand price elasticity and optimize pricing for guest-facing products, including Universal Express, Food & Beverage, Merchandise, and other park offerings. The position partners closely with senior leadership to communicate insights and support execution of pricing recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Management & Pricing Optimization (30%)
Implement and execute revenue management models reflecting price elasticity across all guest-facing products at domestic theme parks.
Support automation of revenue management decision-making and identify opportunities to drive incremental profitability.
Lead data preparation efforts to accurately predict market response to pricing changes.
Pricing Analysis & Performance Measurement (25%)
Review model accuracy, adjust pricing strategies, calculate demand sensitivity, and recommend actions that maximize profitability.
Measure and evaluate market response at product and category levels across multiple locations and parks.
Maintain and analyze historical baselines, including pricing, seasonality, transaction volume, revenue, penetration, and per capita metrics.
Strategic Recommendations & Reporting (20%)
Deliver weekly and annual pricing recommendations.
Collaborate with product owners and senior leaders to execute pricing actions that drive revenue growth.
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to track performance and outcomes.
Modeling & Cross-Functional Collaboration (15%)
Partner with the data science revenue management team to troubleshoot modeling and optimization anomalies.
Provide analytical insights to improve forecasting, optimization, and pricing methodologies.
Leadership & Development (10%)
Coach and mentor junior team members on revenue optimization strategies, pricing analysis techniques, data interpretation, and executive-level communication.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
Preferred fields of study include Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
Experience
5+ years of experience in revenue management, pricing, analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Abilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis preferred.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex analytical problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey insights and recommendations.
Strong collaboration, interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills.
