An established industrial mechanical services company in Greenville is seeking an experienced Mechanical Repair Technician to join its fabrication and repair operation. This role is based in a shop environment supporting the repair, rebuild, and fabrication of industrial mechanical and rotating equipment assemblies.
The position operates on a first-shift schedule (four 10-hour days) and is primarily facility-based. Occasional local day travel may be required to support equipment service, installation, or startup activities.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on mechanical professional with a strong background in industrial maintenance, millwright work, rotating equipment, or mechanical repair, who is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical and rotating equipment assemblies
Perform precision mechanical work including fitting, alignment, and assembly using hand and measuring tools
Cut, weld, grind, and fabricate metal components as required using shop equipment
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication sketches, and work instructions
Support repair and fabrication projects with minimal supervision
Maintain safe work practices and an organized work area
Assist with field support activities on an as-needed basis (local, daytime only)
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in pump repair, rotating equipment, millwright work, or industrial mechanical maintenance
Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience using hand and precision measuring tools
Experience with welding, cutting, grinding, and general fabrication
Ability to read and interpret mechanical or fabrication drawings
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
High school diploma or equivalent
Team-oriented, dependable, and safety-focused work ethic
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
