Job Summary

We are seeking dependable full-time Remote Call Center Customer Service Representatives for a contract/temporary opportunity supporting utility customer care operations. This role is ideal for customer-focused professionals who enjoy solving problems, helping callers understand account and billing information, and working in a structured call center environment.

The Remote Call Center Opening offers a strong training foundation, consistent team interaction, and the opportunity to build valuable customer service, billing support, and utility service experience. Candidates who succeed in this role are reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable using multiple computer systems, and motivated by providing clear, respectful support during both routine and urgent customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond to a high volume of customer telephone inquiries related to utility bills, service orders, account changes, transfers, move-ins, and emergency calls.
- Investigate billing questions, meter read concerns, payment issues, refund requests, compensation requests, and account changes.
- Initiate and update service orders, provide order status information, and route escalated customer issues for resolution.
- Assist customers with credit and payment arrangements and provide referrals to assistance programs when appropriate.
- Direct customers to self-service channels and support resources while maintaining service quality, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Meet individual performance metrics, deadlines, and team goals while multitasking across multiple systems.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $22 to $24 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/temporary through the end of April 2027
- Work arrangement: Remote..
- Schedule: Monday through Friday - can work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Training requirement: Must be able to attend 100% of the 13-week training program.
- Location requirement: Canonsburg, PA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process customer calls related to billing, service orders, move-ins, transfers, account updates, and emergency situations.
- Research account information, resolve customer questions, and escalate complex issues when needed.
- Support customers with payment arrangements, assistance program referrals, and self-service options.
- Maintain call quality, accuracy, productivity metrics, and a positive customer experience.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 to 3 years of customer service experience required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, math, and customer service skills required.
- Advanced computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple tabs, windows, and systems.
- Ability to type 60 to 65 WPM.
- Must complete a CSR aptitude assessment.
- Must maintain high-speed wired internet access with at least 75 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload.
- Internet connection must be hardwired. Wi-Fi and satellite internet are not permitted.
- Must have a secure, private work location in the residence, such as a designated room or office with a non-disruptive environment.
- Must have proper ergonomic office equipment and workspace setup.
- Must have a smartphone to download a VPN app on a personal device.
- Must demonstrate dependability, enthusiasm for learning, attention to detail, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of call center experience preferred.
- Previous work-from-home customer service experience preferred.
- Utility industry experience preferred.
