Remote Account Coordinator I – Healthcare Insurance (Tennessee Only)
A growing specialty healthcare insurance organization is seeking a Remote Account Coordinator I to support policy services and healthcare provider documentation processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and customer service experience who enjoys managing documentation, coordinating requests, and supporting healthcare provider credentialing activities.
Location: Remote – Candidates must reside in Tennessee
Schedule: Standard business hours (Central Time preferred)
Position Overview
The Account Coordinator I supports policy services operations and assists with healthcare provider documentation and credentialing inquiries. This position plays an important role in ensuring requests from clients, providers, and third parties are handled accurately and efficiently.
This role works closely with Account Managers, Underwriting teams, and internal departments to coordinate documentation, process requests, and maintain organized records.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Client Support
Respond to customer and provider inquiries via phone, email, and fax regarding policies, documentation, and account status
Explain policy information and insurance documentation to ensure clients understand coverage details
Respond to questions related to payments, documentation, and policy information in a timely and professional manner
Credentialing & Documentation Support
Coordinate and support healthcare provider credentialing and insurance verification processes
Respond to credentialing and documentation requests from external organizations
Process claims history and documentation requests from third parties
Administrative Operations
Manage incoming correspondence including emails, faxes, and returned mail
Route documentation to appropriate internal team members including account managers and underwriting teams
Maintain organized records and documentation while handling sensitive information
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve client issues and ensure service excellence
Manage multiple requests and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Maintain records in compliance with HIPAA and internal confidentiality standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of administrative support experience required
Customer service experience strongly preferred
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience supporting healthcare insurance, credentialing coordination, or policy services is a plus
