Railroad Project Manager (Southeast Region)
Direct Hire | $65,000 – $85,000 + Bonus + Vehicle
Are you a hands-on leader with experience in railroad construction or heavy civil projects? This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you will own projects from start to finish and work directly with industry-leading railroad clients across the Southeast.
We are partnering with a well-established railroad construction and maintenance contractor seeking a Rail Project Manager to lead field operations, manage crews, and drive projects to successful completion safely, on time, and within budget.
What You’ll Do
Lead the full lifecycle of railroad construction and maintenance projects
Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controls to ensure profitability
Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
Ensure compliance with FRA, OSHA, and railroad safety standards
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
Identify risks early and implement solutions to avoid delays and overruns
Partner with estimating and operations teams during project planning
Build strong client relationships and support ongoing business growth
What You Bring
5+ years of project management experience in railroad, track, or heavy civil construction
Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure, maintenance-of-way, or similar environments
Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors in the field
Proven ability to manage budgets and control project costs
Working knowledge of FRA regulations and safety compliance
Ability to travel regionally to job sites as needed
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
Experience working with Class I or short-line railroads
PMP certification
Background in environmental or infrastructure-related projects
