Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality and Food Safety Officer for a direct hire opportunity in Cataño, PR within the food and beverage production industry. This role supports quality control, food safety, regulatory compliance, and production consistency for alcoholic beverages and food products.
The Quality and Food Safety Officer will work closely with production, warehouse, refrigerated storage, purchasing, and other operational teams to help ensure products meet company specifications and applicable federal requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career quality professional looking to build hands-on experience in GMP, HACCP, laboratory testing, product inspection, and food and beverage manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control checks for alcoholic beverage and food production processes.
- Support compliance with federal Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, SSOP, and related food safety standards.
- Perform sampling and inspection of finished products to verify appearance, packaging, labeling, weight, sealing, and product specifications.
- Complete laboratory analyses for alcoholic beverage and food products according to established procedures.
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining quality and food safety policies across departments.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, refrigerated storage, purchasing, and other teams to promote compliance and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Conduct quality control activities for alcoholic beverage and food production.
- Perform finished product sampling, inspection, and laboratory analysis.
- Support GMP, HACCP, SSOP, and food safety compliance programs.
- Maintain and update quality and food safety procedures for multiple departments.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in quality, food safety, manufacturing, production, or laboratory support.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP principles, SSOP, or food safety compliance requirements.
- Ability to learn wine, alcoholic beverage, and food production processes.
- Ability to taste and evaluate wines and food products to help ensure consistency with reference products.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing packaging, labels, sealing, appearance, weights, and specifications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production, warehouse, purchasing, and operational teams.
- Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills.
- Commitment to product quality, regulatory compliance, and safe manufacturing practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food and beverage production, alcoholic beverage manufacturing, or regulated production environments.
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 210 and 211, 9 CFR 417, GMP, HACCP Plan requirements, and sanitation standard operating procedures.
- Hands-on experience with product inspections, laboratory testing, sensory evaluation, or quality audits.
- Bilingual communication skills may be helpful in a Puerto Rico manufacturing environment.
