Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
Compensation: Hourly (Approx. $70,000/year)
Reports To: Quality Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Systems Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City. In this role, you'll take the lead in developing, implementing, and continuously improving our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP standards. You will be instrumental in coordinating audits, driving process improvements, and addressing quality-related issues across internal teams and with customers.

Key Responsibilities
Administer and improve the company’s Quality Management System, including job instructions, documentation, training, and policy compliance.

Lead and maintain AS9100 compliance; coordinate successful annual audits.

Chair teams responsible for NADCAP chemical processing and AS9100 compliance.

Develop and oversee internal audit programs to meet customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.

Lead Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts for internal and external quality concerns.

Conduct employee training programs related to quality, compliance, and best practices.

Collaborate directly with customers to address and resolve quality and technical issues.

Participate in Management Quality Review Board meetings.

Apply tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control to support continuous improvement.

Assist production with QA efforts during and after customer audits.

Maintain accurate documentation for plating and heat treat operations.

Represent the department in specification reviews and ensure compliance with latest revisions.

Track and post quality performance metrics aligned with company goals.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.

Working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP is required.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of blueprints, technical specifications, and industry standards.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in non-standardized processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to interpret and apply statistical and mathematical concepts.

Excellent communication skills; capable of working with cross-functional teams and customers.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.

Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Moderate noise level typical of a manufacturing environment.

Regular standing and walking; occasional sitting.

Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
