Location: SALT LAKE CITY UT 84104
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
Compensation: Hourly (Approx. $70,000/year)
Reports To: Quality Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll play a key role in maintaining AS9100 and NADCAP compliance, coordinating audits, driving process improvements, and resolving quality-related issues with both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
Administer and enhance the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including job instructions, records, training, and adherence to policies.

Lead AS9100 compliance efforts and coordinate successful yearly audits.

Chair NADCAP chemical processing and AS9100 compliance teams.

Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit programs in line with customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for both internal and customer-reported issues.

Deliver required employee training programs related to quality and compliance.

Collaborate directly with customers to resolve quality and technical concerns.

Actively participate in Management Quality Review Board meetings.

Apply continuous improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control.

Assist production teams with quality assurance during and after customer audits.

Maintain accurate technical documentation for plating and heat treat departments.

Represent the department in company specification reviews and ensure adherence to current specification revisions.

Create and post performance metrics aligned with company goals.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP accreditations is required.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of technical specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.

Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly with non-standardized processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to interpret and apply statistical and mathematical concepts.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and customers.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.

Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Moderate noise level.

Regularly required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit.

Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
