Quality Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing

Position Overview
This position is open due to continued growth in business and increased production demand. Our client is seeking a Quality Inspector who brings experience in an AS9100 aerospace manufacturing environment and takes pride in ensuring that every product leaving our facility reflects the highest standards of workmanship. Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager, President
Interfaces With: President, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Material Control
Position Objective
Ensure that all Quality Assurance activities are performed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace standards.
Role Summary
The Quality Inspector serves as the final review point for product and documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. Every part, assembly, and document released represents the work of our entire team, and the Quality Inspector plays a critical role in upholding that standard.
Key Responsibilities
A Quality Inspector is responsible for all aspects of quality assurance activities, including but not limited to:
Perform receiving inspection in accordance with Quality Procedures.
Verify compliance with drawings, purchase orders, and specification requirements for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts.
Inspect off-the-shelf items using technical data sheets and catalogs.
Review supplier certifications, inspection reports, and test reports for accuracy and compliance.
Stamp and date supplier documentation as objective evidence of review and acceptance; stamp and date travelers for verification and acceptance/rejection.
Perform receiving inspection of all customer-furnished materials (CFM).
Maintain receiving inspection records for all incoming materials, parts, and components.
Identify shelf-life items, apply proper expiration labels, and maintain the shelf-life log.
Perform in-process inspections per Quality Procedures, verifying compliance with drawings, routers, and specifications during production.
Perform final inspections to verify compliance with drawings, routers, and specifications for mechanical and electrical/electromechanical assemblies.
File and maintain Quality Records, including:
Supplier inspection, test, and certification documents
Inspection and test acceptance/rejection results
Closed material routers/travelers
Perform First Article Inspections and complete AS9102 reports as required.
Maintain quality stamp control.
Sign Certificates of Conformance (C of C) as the company’s Quality representative.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Required Education & Experience
Two-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience, preferably in aerospace assembly, manufacturing, or production processes.
Experience performing quality inspection in an AS9100-certified aerospace environment.
