Job Overview: The Quality Control Technician monitors plant processing operations and programs relating to food safety, HACCP, and regulatory issues. This position performs a variety of technical inspections and testing and monitors tasks to detect processing, manufacturing, or other defects. Key Responsibilities: • Perform quality inspections of products before public release. The focus is on ensuring products are following food safety regulations and internal standards. • Will operate under good manufacturing practices (GMP) and be familiar with the HACCP system. • Observe and report all food product deficiencies. • Participate in conducting plant audits and third-party audits. • Perform manual and automated quality testing, analyzing, and recording related results. • Inspect production equipment and machinery to ensure they are operating efficiently. • Collaborate with other production departments to ensure the production process runs smoothly. • Inspect raw materials so ensure they meet the specifications for the shape, size, and quality. • Enforce BRC, HACCP, SOPs and product specifications. • Test finished products and raw materials for compliance with industry food specifications and standards. • Manage point step process review, label and materials review, and QA approval of documentation control, line clearing, and process deviations. • Work within a team structure to achieve PCB and Department goals. • Be accurate when collecting product data samples. • Conduct data analysis and reporting. • Perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: • Proficiency with all MS Office Suite programs Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Experience enforcing SOP and product specifications. • Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. • Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance. • Exceptional leadership characteristics, communication skills, and ability to interact with management and employees. • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish • Ability to use Microsoft word, excel and databases to interact with customers, suppliers, auditors, and technical support groups. • Demonstrate the Qualified Individuals responsibilities for Preventative Controls • Strong mathematics and analytical skills • Excellent attention to detail Working Conditions: • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. • Follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. • Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs., stand on feet for prolonged periods of time and climb stairs as needed. • Equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection. • Seasonal temperatures can be expected. • Must wear and use all protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
