Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician Chemical for a contract opportunity in a chemical manufacturing environment in the Bay Point/Pittsburg, CA area. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented QC professional with experience testing raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products against established quality specifications.

The Quality Control Technician Chemical will support a safety-focused, team-oriented production operation where accuracy, reliability, and strong communication are essential. This is a great opportunity to work with experienced quality, production, R&D, and technical teams in a structured lab setting with clear procedures, supportive leadership, and a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform standard quality control testing on incoming raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods according to established specifications.
- Calculate, document, and report test results, including entering quality data into SAP and maintaining accurate QC records.
- Maintain retain samples, dispose of expired samples, and keep lab equipment in proper working order through routine calibration.
- Review, write, and support the accuracy of QC methods, quality records, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in customer and regulatory audits, out-of-spec investigations, corrective actions, and customer complaint reviews.
- Follow all Safety, Health, Environmental, OSHA, and 5S requirements while working in a chemical laboratory environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $24 to $26 per hour.
- Schedule: 1st shift, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Bay Point/Pittsburg, CA area.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform chemical and physical quality control testing in a manufacturing lab environment.
- Record QC data, calculate results, maintain documentation, and support SAP data entry.
- Support audits, investigations, corrective actions, equipment calibration, and sample retention processes.
- Follow lab safety procedures while handling chemicals, reagents, and finished products.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality control testing environment preferred.
- Experience testing raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods against established specifications.
- Ability to work in a chemical lab environment handling chemicals, including toluene, reagents, and finished product.
- PC proficiency required, including Microsoft Office; experience with Lotus Notes, SAP, and databases is desired.
- Strong commitment to safety systems, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, reliability, and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability.
- Flexibility to work overtime, extended shifts, or other shifts on occasion.
- Ability to sit, view a computer screen, and type for extended periods.
- Ability to stand continuously, walk frequently, climb and descend stairs routinely, and lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting up to 25 lbs during a shift.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SAP quality data entry.
- Experience participating in customer audits, regulatory audits, out-of-spec investigations, and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with 5S practices in a laboratory or manufacturing quality environment.
- Experience supporting customer complaint investigations with R&D, technical, or production teams.
