We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented PCB Quality Control Inspector with hands-on electronics manufacturing experience, strong IPC inspection knowledge, and the ability to identify PCB-level defects in a fast-paced production environment.
The Quality Control Operator will support outgoing quality control, first article inspections, component inspections, and QA sampling activities to help ensure products meet customer, supervisor, and industry quality requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform OQC and PCB visual inspections based on IPC standards.
- Complete first article sample inspections and verify product quality against requirements.
- Inspect electronic components, SMT components, PTH components, soldering, part marking, and PCB-level workmanship.
- Identify PCB defects and document inspection findings clearly and accurately.
- Support QA sampling inspections using AQL sampling methods.
- Review blueprints, work instructions, FAI documentation, AOI results, and X-ray inspection information as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $25.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift.
- Work hours noted: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to be confirmed.
- Location: San Jose, CA 95112.
- Perform PCB visual inspection based on IPC standards.
- Inspect first article samples, electronic components, and production assemblies.
- Support outgoing quality control and QA sampling inspection processes.
- Identify, document, and communicate PCB-level defects to quality and production teams.
- Minimum 1 year of PCB-level inspection experience required.
- 3 to 5 years of quality control, inspection, electronics manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards required.
- Experience with SMT and PTH components required.
- Ability to identify PCB-level defects, soldering issues, part marking concerns, and workmanship issues.
- Ability to measure resistance and capacitance.
- Familiarity with blueprints, work instructions, FAI, AOI, X-ray inspection, and AQL sampling.
- Computer skills required, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, reliability, and ability to follow inspection requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in electronics, components, or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in a PCB assembly or assembly line environment.
- Experience working closely with supervisors, production teams, and quality assurance teams.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining inspection accuracy and production flow.
