The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing the project's Quality Control Program while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, federal regulations, and industry best practices.
Position Responsibilities
-Serve as the designated Quality Control Manager for a federal VA Hospital construction project.
-Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Plan.
-Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract documents, and federal construction requirements.
-Coordinate and conduct Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up inspections.
-Maintain quality documentation and inspection records throughout the project lifecycle.
-Review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, testing reports, and closeout documentation.
-Coordinate with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and government representatives.
-Verify that construction activities comply with approved plans and specifications.
-Manage and track deficiencies, punch lists, corrective actions, and quality-related issues.
-Coordinate third-party testing agencies and special inspections.
-Prepare quality control reports and documentation for owner and government review. -Participate in project meetings, inspections, commissioning, and turnover activities.
-Support project safety initiatives and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
-Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager on federal construction projects.
-Demonstrated experience with federal agencies including:
>Veterans Affairs (VA)
>U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
>NAVFAC
>Department of Defense (DoD)
-Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
-Thorough understanding of construction quality management principles and procedures.
-Experience conducting Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up inspections.
-Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and contract administration.
-Ability to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft 365, and construction management software.
-Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
-Ability to pass federal background screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-Current USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) Certification.
-Previous VA Hospital or healthcare construction experience.
-Occupied healthcare renovation experience.
-Experience with commissioning and turnover processes.
-Familiarity with USACE RMS and NAVFAC eCMS systems.
-Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree.
-Design-build project experience.
