Position Summary:
The Quality Control Lab Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and consistency throughout various stages of production. This position involves conducting analytical and sensory testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the QC team in daily operations to uphold company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to all company standard operating procedures, practices, and policies.
Conduct quality control testing during production stages, including in-process, bulk, and finished goods.
Perform routine analytical tests, including pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and sensory evaluations such as color, odor, appearance, and texture.
Coordinate the preparation and shipment of samples to contract laboratories and customers, and manage follow-up communication as necessary.
Maintain, organize, and archive product samples according to established procedures.
Accurately document all QC assay details, including lot numbers, test results, and physical observations.
Calibrate laboratory equipment according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, ensuring proper documentation of all activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
Record and monitor daily laboratory temperatures.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and compliance with company protocols and applicable industry standards.
Support cross-training initiatives and perform additional QC-related duties as assigned.
Adapt to changing production schedules and assist in other QC functions when needed.
Ensure timely testing and release of products to support production schedules.
Take responsibility for the maintenance and documentation of master and retain samples.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED (preferred) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and rounding.
Competent in basic computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Professional, positive attitude with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
High level of accountability, responsibility, and ownership of assigned tasks.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
