The QC has the primary responsibility for protecting the food by performing and documenting food safety and quality checks to meet all regulatory, customer and company requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for performing and documenting daily food safety and quality checks within production.
Checks include but are not limited to CCP Critical Control Point (CCP). A step at which control must be applied in order to prevent or eliminate a food safety hazard or reduce it to an acceptable level as it will not be removed at a later step. CQP checks, fill weight checks, product screen checks, product changeover filling line checks, periodic line checks, etc.
• Responsible for approving finished products by confirming specifications and conducting visual and required tests.
• Responsible for performing equipment checks and/or calibrations on production room equipment. These include but are not limited to production scales, concentration checks, blade checks, etc.
• Responsible for monitoring and documenting daily sanitation practices with department leads.
• Responsible for identifying any production related non-conformances or deviations and bringing such to the attention of the QA team.
• Responsible for segregating non-conforming product or equipment in accordance with Hold and Release Program.
• Responsible for following company policies, programs and procedures such as SOPs, SSOPs, CCPs and CQPs.
• Working to maintain the safety, legality and quality of each food and the processes used in their manufacture
• Participating in all food safety and quality training organized by the company.
• Conducting “on the fly” training with production employees on food safety and quality processes if necessary.
• Completing documentation in a clear, concise, legible and accurate manner and maintaining record keeping requirements.
• Performing other food safety and quality related tasks as assigned by the QA team.

• Must have the ability to work in a team setting with limited supervision.
• Must be able to accurately read and interpret details
• Must have a very high level of attention to detail.
• Good oral and written communication skills

Additional Skills

Must be able to work in a face paced environment and be able to move from task to task quickly. Experience of working within a busy and driven manufacturing environment.
