About the Opportunity 1+ year of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, food manufacturing, or a related environment preferred
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join a growing food and beverage manufacturing team in the Kent area. This position plays an important role in ensuring products are produced safely, consistently, and according to established quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, quality control, or a related production environment and understands the importance of GMPs, food safety, documentation, and attention to detail.
What You'll Do
-Perform quality inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
-Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards
-Conduct and document required quality checks throughout the production process
-Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and verify required production procedures are being followed
-Inspect product weight, appearance, packaging, labeling, coding, and other specifications
-Perform environmental, equipment, and sanitation checks as required
-Assist with allergen testing and verification
-Ensure production employees are following GMPs, SOPs, and food safety procedures
-Document quality issues, deviations, and corrective actions
-Communicate quality concerns to Production and Quality leadership
-Assist with investigations related to product quality or food safety issues
-Maintain accurate QA records, logs, and documentation
-Support internal audits and food safety programs
-Assist with employee training related to GMPs, quality, and food safety
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We're Looking For
-1+ year of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, food manufacturing, or a related environment preferred
-High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus
Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA food safety requirements, or preventive controls preferred
-Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies
-Comfortable performing measurements, inspections, and basic testing
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation
-Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
-Ability to work independently while partnering closely with Production and Quality teams
-Reliable attendance and willingness to work a flexible manufacturing schedule
Physical Requirements
-Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
-Ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment
-Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movements
-Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. as needed
-Ability to work around production equipment, noise, varying temperatures, and food-processing environments
-Ability to wear required PPE and follow sanitation and food safety requirements
