Job Summary
A food manufacturing organization in Monrovia, CA is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead Quality Assurance, Quality Control, food safety, and regulatory compliance programs. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on QA leader with strong USDA, SQF, HACCP, FDA, GMP, and audit readiness experience.
The Quality Assurance Manager will play a key leadership role in protecting product quality, strengthening food safety systems, and supporting continuous improvement across the facility. This is a strong opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys leading teams, partnering with operations, working with regulatory agencies, and driving best practices in a collaborative production environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain SQF, HACCP, food safety, QA/QC, GMP, SSOP, allergen control, and quality management programs.
- Manage regulatory compliance and serve as the primary contact for USDA, FDA, third-party, Organic, and Halal audits.
- Oversee supplier approvals, customer complaints, corrective actions, environmental compliance, sanitation standards, and equipment calibration programs.
- Coordinate microbiological testing, review results, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure product labels, specifications, formulations, nutritional documentation, and quality records meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Supervise the SQF Practitioner and Quality Control Technicians while developing food safety and quality training programs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $120,000 to $130,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead SQF, HACCP, QA/QC, and food safety programs within a USDA-inspected food manufacturing facility.
- Manage audit readiness, regulatory inspections, microbiological testing, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
- Supervise quality team members and communicate food safety, product quality, and compliance risks to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation, labeling, product quality, and process controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience working in a USDA-inspected facility is required.
- HACCP Certified Practitioner certification is required.
- SQF Practitioner qualification and hands-on SQF program management experience are required.
- Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, food safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with food labeling, product specifications, audits, microbiological testing, corrective action programs, and employee training.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Organic, Halal, and third-party certification audits.
- Experience managing supplier approval programs, customer complaint investigations, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Background leading Quality Control Technicians or QA staff in a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to partner with production, sanitation, maintenance, and executive leadership to improve quality and food safety performance.
