We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with a strong background in the protein/meat industry to join a fast-moving, family-run environment. This role is ideal for someone who values long-term stability and thrives in a collaborative, hands-on workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure food safety compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, USDA, and FDA standards
Lead audits (SQF, supplier, regulatory) and maintain certifications (Halal, Organic, etc.)
Drive product quality improvements and continuous process enhancements
Manage laboratory testing and oversee corrective actions for quality issues
Develop and maintain SOPs impacting food safety and quality
Oversee product development documentation including formulations, labels, and specifications
Train and supervise staff on food safety and quality practices
Collaborate cross-functionally on budgets, projects, and compliance initiatives
Maintain sanitation standards across facilities and equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
5–10 years of experience in food manufacturing QA/QC or food safety
HACCP certification required; SQF experience preferred
Proficiency in MS Office and food labeling software (Bartender)
Strong regulatory knowledge of USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP requirements
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage a small team effectively
