A growing manufacturing operation in the food and beverage production industry is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in Hanford, CA. This role is ideal for a purchasing and inventory professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys keeping materials, packaging, warehouse support, and vendor activity aligned with operational needs.
The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging supplies, and inventory support functions that help production and distribution run efficiently. This position offers strong visibility across departments and the opportunity to work closely with production, warehouse, quality, transportation, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Order raw materials, packaging supplies, and related inventory needed to support production schedules and distribution requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, vendor lead times, and purchasing needs to help prevent shortages, delays, or excess stock.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery timelines, order status, and service performance.
- Support accurate inventory tracking for finished goods, raw materials, packaging supplies, and warehouse-related materials.
- Supervise and support warehouse staff through training, daily guidance, performance feedback, and operational follow-up.
- Partner with production, quality assurance, transportation, and finance teams to improve purchasing controls, inventory accuracy, and warehouse efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Oversee purchasing activity for raw materials, packaging supplies, and inventory needed to support production.
- Manage vendor communication, lead times, pricing coordination, and supply availability.
- Support inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and production schedule alignment.
- Supervise warehouse staff and promote strong operational follow-through.
- 3 to 5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, supply chain, or related operations experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory levels, purchasing timelines, vendor lead times, and material availability.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, warehouse, quality, transportation, and finance teams.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and support warehouse team members in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Comfortable monitoring purchasing activity, identifying inventory concerns, and supporting process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food and beverage production or a related manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience supporting warehouse, inventory, or purchasing teams.
- Familiarity with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
- Experience improving inventory accuracy, vendor performance, purchasing controls, or warehouse processes.
