Job Summary

AppleOne is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in a manufacturing environment. This role oversees purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging supplies, and inventory support functions that keep production and distribution running smoothly.

The Purchasing Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting production schedules, working with vendors, and partnering with warehouse, production, quality, transportation, and finance teams. This is a strong opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys fast-paced manufacturing environments, cross-functional collaboration, and leading process improvements that directly impact operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Order packaging supplies, raw materials, and related inventory needed to support production schedules.
- Monitor stock levels, usage trends, vendor lead times, and purchasing needs to help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Work closely with vendors to manage pricing, delivery performance, availability, and purchasing timelines.
- Support accurate inventory tracking for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging supplies.
- Supervise and support warehouse staff, including training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, Transportation, and Finance teams to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and purchasing controls.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage purchasing activities for packaging supplies, raw materials, and production support materials.
- Maintain inventory levels and purchasing plans to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to manage lead times, pricing, delivery performance, and inventory accuracy.
- Support warehouse staff and contribute to process improvements across purchasing and inventory functions.

- 3 to 5 or more years of purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
- Experience ordering and managing packaging supplies, raw materials, or related production materials.
- Proficiency with inventory systems, ERP or MRP software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Leadership ability to support, train, and guide warehouse staff.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in food manufacturing, beverage production, or refrigerated warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
- Experience supporting cost control initiatives, vendor performance reviews, or inventory process improvements.
