**Purchasing Manager**
Location:** Richardson, TX (Manufacturing Facility)
Reports To:** President
Department:** Purchasing
**Summary**
The Purchasing Manager oversees purchasing operations for the manufacturing facility and front offices, managing inventory, purchasing, planning, forecasting, and receiving to meet production demands. This role requires continuous evaluation of priorities based on production needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **Purchasing & Vendor Management:**
* Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering to acquire inventory cost-effectively and on time.
* Monitor vendor cost, schedule, and scope to ensure high quality and ROI.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
* Manage Purchase Orders (POs), including reviewing requirements, releasing orders, and processing stock POs.
* Build strong vendor relationships, establish replenishment methods, identify new vendors, evaluate current suppliers, and manage the Approved Vendor List.
* **Inventory Control & Planning:**
* Review inventory levels to maintain budgeted levels and corporate inventory turns.
* Maintain planning parameters (Safety Stocks, Multiples, Planning Periods).
* Manage product cycle counts and assist with year-end inventory counts.
* Identify and resolve customer-driven shortages, communicating with Sales.
* Handle returns, credits, and resolve PO discrepancies or delivery problems.
**Qualifications**
* **Experience:** 10+ years of manufacturing purchasing experience.
* **Systems:** NAV system experience preferred.
**Skills**
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent time management and ability to coordinate multiple projects.
* Attention to detail, accountability, and organizational skills.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Solid understanding of inventory control and cycle counts.
