Our client is looking for some who will be responsible for performing daily Central Purchasing functions, supporting month-end accounting procedures, and handling various administrative duties. The specialist will act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth procurement and financial operations for this growth oriented automotive solutions organization.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & POs: Prepare purchase orders, review requisition orders for accuracy (GL/categories), and send copies to suppliers.
Vendor Management: Contact suppliers to schedule/expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed deliveries, or other issues.
Accounting Support: Provide supporting documentation for month-end accruals related to purchasing and forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
Comparison & Analysis: Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
Logistics: Check shipments upon arrival to ensure orders are filled correctly and meet specifications.
Administrative: Maintain purchasing files, price lists, and track the status of requisitions and contracts.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Software: Knowledge of AS400, ORACLE, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) highly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Basic auction knowledge is a major plus.
Skills: Strong data entry skills, effective communication, and attention to detail.
Physical: Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods; vision abilities for close/distance/depth perception.
