Purchasing Clerk - This position handles creating and processing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, and maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records. The role coordinates with Receiving and other departments, supports monthly physical inventory counts, and negotiates available supplier discounts.

Essential Functions:
• Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery dates, and discounts.
• Analyze pricing and make purchasing recommendations to management.
• Coordinate with Receiving and other departments to maintain inventory levels.
• Support and lead monthly physical inventory counts (mandatory Saturday participation).
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing histories, and vendor files.
• Negotiate volume, cash, and other available discounts with suppliers.
• Uphold company values and perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; purchasing or supply chain certification preferred.
• Experience in purchasing or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory control systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing/ERP software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
